There’s no place like home for the holidays. But for many of Central Texas’ most vulnerable - they are forced to spend them in the company of strangers. While we can’t fill their biggest wish (to be back home) we can do the next best thing and that’s to show them the true magic of the season. Every year, Cordonate adopts over 200 children currently in the foster care system. Each child is asked to fill out a wish list that Cordonate’s army of volunteers shops for, wraps, and puts under the giant Christmas tree. We then host a huge party filled with “snow” falling from the sky, a hot chocolate bar, a s’mores station and appearances by the Grinch and Santa himself. As we wrap up the evening — the foster family leaves with arms full of gifts bought specifically from their foster child’s wish list to put under their tree
