There’s no place like home for the holidays, but many of Central Texas’ most vulnerable are forced to spend them in the company of strangers. While we can’t fulfill their biggest wish — to be home — we can do the next best thing — show them the true magic of the season and spread some joy!

 

Every year, Cordonate “adopts” over 200 children currently in the foster care system. Each child is asked to fill out a wishlist, then Cordonate’s army of volunteers sets out to shop and wrap gifts to put under our giant Christmas tree.

 

Then we host a huge magical party with snow falling from the sky, hot chocolate bar, s’mores station,  live appearances by the Grinch and Santa and more! As we wrap up the evening, the foster families leave with arms full of gifts to put under their Christmas trees — every present specifically bought from their foster child’s wishlist.
